James Roger Wade Jr., known professionally as "Trakz" was born, in Roanoke, VA. Raised as a country boy, Trakz had early aspirations for a musical career due to his family’s heavy background in music. He started playing instruments at an early age, by watching his grandfather tune and play his guitar inside his old country store. Instruments were always made available to him due to his family being in multiple bands and singing groups. Trakz was passionate and dedicated when it came to music, and with his family being too busy to help him learn how to play, Trakz decided to teach himself.
He studied the styles of self-taught masters Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Eric Clapton. Through his determination to learning music theory, Trakz is able to play 9 instruments guitar, piano, bass, drums, organ, harmonica, accordion, violin, and the harp. He learned to play each instrument by ear because he felt musicians played with more emotions and feelings this way. Beneficial by-products from being self-taught musically, honed Wade’s skills in writing poetry which morphed into heart-felt lyrics and the development of his vocal talents. His lyrics and singing styles are upbeat, sensitive, charming, feel good, sing-alongs; reminiscent to early 2000 R&B singers Jon B, Mario, and even New Edition’s Ralph Tresvant. Coupled with his instrumental arrangements and self-produced music tracks, James is the millennial, new-coming of age musician’s musician, lyricist’s lyricist. There’s a sweetness and tenderness to Trakz’s style of R&B. Watching him perform live is an extraordinary experience. The audience is captivated by his sensitivity in that what you hear on his recordings; is exactly what you’re going to hear him play live.
Now under the direction of Song Source Music Group, Trakz is ready to make his debut as the new sound of urban contemporary, R&B.
